A Little Lie Can Be A Big Truth

I stood on the beach with Alex.

We were standing by the water's edge, and he held my hands gently.

"Tell me a lie." I whispered to him.

"I love you." He answered quietly.

I was silent for a moment, until he asked me, "Tell me the truth."

I thought and answered him, "I love you, too."

Alex smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist.

but the girl knew alex well enough
and she knew that he loved her a lot
