On The Verge Of A Breakdown

Courtney found herself in the same situation, yet again.Falling for this guy who she hadn't truley expressed her feelings for. Who may you ask i'm talking about? Her best friend,Nate Young. The one person who she could tell everything to,besides this. If she didnt want their friendship to be on the verge of breaking, she had to keep it to herself.

Courtneys POV

"I am easily make believe, just dress me up in what you want me to be. I'll take back what I've been saying for quite some time now. I gotta feel you in my bones again, I'm all over you.I'm not over you," came from my cell. Nates ringtone. I knew I couldn't ignore him any longer or he'd suspect something was wrong. So i had to answer. I picked up and said hello. "Hey, where are you? I called you a couple times before but you never answered," Nate said. "Oh, im at the beach." I told him. "Oh, so do u want to meet up?" Nate asked me, his voice sounding a bit raspy. "Um...yea sure. lets me up at the reef," I replied. "ok, ill be there in a few," Nate said and we hung up. i was wondering why he was trying to call me. I stopped trying to figure it out and started walking down the beach. Once I reached the reef, I saw him standing there waiting for me. "Hey" I said. "Hi," Nate said and gave me a hug. "So why did you want to meet up?" i asked him. "Just didnt get the chance to hang out with you lately," he replied. "Yea i know, some stuff has come up" i said not being able to look at him. After an awkward silence Nate said, "whats happening with us?" "what do u mean?" i asked. "we dont talk as much as we use to" nate said. i finally looked at him and immediately our eyes locked.

Nates POV

I was staring into her eyes, not being able to look away. And I felt something there. I was hoping that she did to, but with Courtney, you could never tell. She had those ways of hiding her feelings if she didnt want any one to know her business. I decided that i need to tell her how i feel or I would never get it off my chest. I did the first thing that came to mind. I leaned in and kissed her. She sat there mesmerized of what just happened. "What was that?" she asked, a bit confused. "The one thing that felt right. I can't hide it anymore,Courtney. your my best friend and i was afraid to ruin that. But my feelings can't change in a heartbeat. It's like im on the verge of a breakdown. I had to tell you, I just couldnt figure out how," I blurted out. "What didn't you know how to tell me?" she asked. Now was my time to do it. "That...I Love You." She sat there without any emotion. "You don't know how long I've been waiting to hear you say that," she said as a smile crept upon her face. "And..?" I said trying to see if she felt the same way that i did.

Courtney POV

My best friend, who I have had a huge crush on for the longest time, had told me he loved me. And all i could tell him was how long ive waited to hear him say it. I giggled at him after he said "and?" and decided to do what I wanted to. I leaned in a little, grabbing the edge of his hoodie, slowly pulling him closer to me, and gave him the sweetest kiss. "I Love you, too," I finally said. Three words that took so long to escape from my mouth. He smiled and i couldnt help but smiling after he said.. "will you be my girlfriend?" With no hesitation I replied with a very peppy yes. He laughed at me, but I didn't care. The boy that I had fallen in love with had finally told me he felt the same way. I layed on the sand by the reef with him, his arms wrapped around me, making me feel comforted just as the sun went down. I was finally glad to say that I love Nate Young. This is by far the best feeling in the world.
