Chapter Final Happy Endings
“Zachary! Alice! Come here or you’ll be late for kinder garden.” Bellowed Emma though out the garden behind their house. “Coming mommy!” yelled the twins in perfect zinc. “Okay hurry, daddy is already in the car.” Said Emma as she opened the front door. “Worried?” said Tyler putting on his glasses. “Hey, aren’t you supposed to be in the car?” Emma laughed, “But yes, I am.” “Shouldn’t every mother be?” Tyler smirked as he hugged Emma. “I just feel like I’m sending them into a pack of wolves.” Emma said regretfully. “Don’t worry, they’ll be fine. And if something goes wrong, John and Jordan’s school is right next door.” Said Tyler reassuring her, “Oh, and guess who called?” “Who?” Emma asked looking up. “The Queen of England.” Tyler scoffed. “Seriously, who was it?” Emma asked intrigued. “My father, he said it’s time he meet them. Our reunion is soon. Jacob, Shiloh, Corey, and Victoria are flying in next week. He said we should leave by the end of the month.” Tyler said looking at the stairs. “That sounds great, they should meet their grand father…Hey has Corey and Vicky have their baby, yet?” Emma asked also looking at the stairs. “No, she’s only six months in……I bet Corey will be surprised to see me and the fact I had kids before him.” Tyler said laughing. “I’d take that bet, but what do you mean by surprised to see you?” Emma asked stunned. “Well, look at me. He never pictured me as the fatherly type. I’ve grown up, I dress differently, I even act different. I have a job as a doctor, a beautiful wife, and two special children. I’m terribly blessed.” Tyler admitted to himself and to Emma. “That maybe true, but you know what they say. You can never out grow your brother, no matter how hard you try. Trust me I learned the hard way.” Emma snickered, “Oh there they are.”
“Morning daddy!” they exclaimed. “Hey guys, we better get going.” Tyler said hugging them, and put them in his arms. “Wee!” “Bye mommy, love you!” they said leaving in the car.
“Family convenience, attention.” Yelled Tyler. “Yes, sir!” exclaimed Zachary and Alice. “I can this meeting to order. Now first state of business. I have explained to your teacher that next week we are going on vacation.” Tyler said triumphantly. “Vacation?” “What’s that?” they asked. “It’s were you go to a different place for a time, have fun and do stuff.” Emma explained to them. “Oh, I get” “But where will we go?” they asked looking at their parents. “We are going to Seattle, Washington.” “That’s on the other side of the ocean. “Tyler and Emma said.
“The ocean?” “Cool! When do we leave!” they bellowed with energy. “WE told you next week, and we leave by plane.” Emma explained.
Tyler, Emma, Zachary, and Alice arrived from where it all started. Until recently they lived in England Tyler and Emma’s birth place. Now they were on vacation in Seattle, the place where Tyler’s father still lived.
Corey, Jacob, Shiloh, and Victoria were already there and awaiting their arrival.
“Daddy is this where your daddy lives?” asked Alice holding onto Tyler’s leg. “Yeah, this is where he lives.” Tyler replied putting a hand on her back.
Suddenly the front doors open with Shiloh appearing through them. Shiloh was about seven the last time they saw her, and she’s now eighteen. “Hey Emma, Tyler, and what do we have here. Are you guys baby sitting now?” Shiloh inquired as she walked towards them. “No they are our children, Shiloh. Come on kids introduce yourselves.” Emma said trying to encourage them. “Hi I’m Zachary.” “I’m Alice.” “It’s very nice to meet you.” Said the children one after another. “They are definitely your kids, Tyler.” Said Shiloh laughing, “Wait, right there, I’m going to get the family.” Shiloh disappeared into the house. She returns with everyone Jacob, Victoria, Corey, john, Jordan, and Mr. Peyton. They all rush to see them. Corey was the first to run to Tyler, just to give him a hug.
“Man Tyler, look at you.” Corey stated laughing then bent down to greet the kids. “Ha! Ha! Told you Em!” Tyler snickered. “How long has it been since our last reunion?” Corey asked looking at Tyler. “Um…I think five years. Remember Emma was pregnant with Zachary and Alice.” Jacob stated hugging Emma.
“Jacob, it’s been a long time.” Emma said hugging him and Shiloh back. “Yeah it has.” They said meanwhile Tyler and Corey’s dad was still on the porch, when Zachary and Alice came up to him.
“Hey mister?” “Why are you over here by yourself?” “Who are you?” asked Zachary and Alice. “Are you apart of this family?” they asked again. “Yes, I am?” said Mr. Peyton. “Then why aren’t you over there, then?” Alice asked. “I wanted to give them some space.” Mr. Peyton said looking at them. “Um… mister?” “Are you our second daddy?” they asked shyly. “What?” Mr. Peyton asked curiously. “Well mommy said we were going to meet our daddy’s daddy” “So wouldn’t that be a second daddy.” They said shyly again.
“No, I’m what you call a grand-dad.” Mr. Peyton said as they walked toward him. “So you’re our grand-daddy?” Zachary asked. “Yes, I am?” Mr. Peyton said as they charged toward him and gave him a huge hug. They hugged as the rest of them continue to talk about old times; to catch up with one another.
“Come on, grandpa.” “Let’s go see mommy and daddy.” Said Zachary and Alice pulling him into the crowd.
“Hey dad.” Tyler said hugging his father as emma joined in, with their kids clenching to their legs. “Welcome home, my son.” Said Mr. Peyton sobbing.
The reunion lasted two weeks Tyler, Emma, Zachary, and Alice were the last to leave. Tyler’s vacation time was over, Emma had to get back to the agency, and the children had to get back to school.
Zachary and Alice were saying their last good byes to their grand father. “Bye grandpa.” “We will see you soon.” they said in a hug. “I look forward to it. Oh, can you give this to your daddy when you get on the plane?” Mr. Peyton asked. “Otay?” “Sure, okay?” they said as their grandfather handed them a red hard cover book. “Pretty?” Alice cried. “Bye, grandpa!” they yelled as they ran into the car.
“Daddy, mommy?” “Wake up?” they whispered shaking them making sure not to disturb the other passengers. “What?” Tyler said sleepily. “Do you have to go potty?” Emma asked with a yawn.
“No? grandpa told us to give this to you both?” Zachary said handing him the red book. Tyler opened the book to reveal a letter addressed for Tyler and Emma. “He also asked us to ask you. “How did you guys meet each other?” they asked looking at them.
Tyler opened the envelope, it read……
“Tyler and Emma,
This was the blank book you both found. As you can see it’s changed completely. It contains the past, the past of the two of you……There has been many books like this, I have one too. When you found it, your story was just beginning, now it is almost complete. Share this with your children. So that one day, your story will be remembered through out all of our history.
All my love,
Your Father.”
“Wow, that old man.” Said Tyler opening the book. “So what is the story about?” asked Zachary. “Our past?” Emma said bluntly. “Cool.” “Read it to us.” The kids sounded intrigued. “Okay, here we go.”
“Sometime ago in a forest in Seattle we join a boy and his father hunting. What this boy doesn’t know, is he will be written in history as a vampire who fell in love with a human.” Tyler’s voice echoed throughout the story.
