To Catch An Angel
Prologue
Humans dream of us sometimes, dream that we come to them and leave all these profound messages of salvation and hope and events to come. They consider us to be their personal protectors, the ones who warn them of danger or prevent their death. They draw us on pieces of paper with fluffy white wings, chubby cheeks and a halo over our head. Sometimes they even call to us, hoping that we could hear them and come when they need us. Sometimes we wish we could.
It really is a beautiful thought; to imagine ourselves soaring through the skies on some divine mission to save the lives of everyone below us. Unfortunately, it does not work that way. Our mission is to maintain a balance between good and evil. Yes we try our best to keep you out of harm's way and yes we try to send warnings but no one listens to us. They don't see us as God's divine messengers.
When we walk down the street, humans look at us and see no difference from them. We do not have wings growing out of our backs or halos floating over our heads. Although we sometimes we appear as animals; a dog that saves the life a drowning man, a wolf that nurses a set of abandoned twins, or a deer that guides lost travelers. But we are ordinary, we are here, we are angels.
Sorry its so short, but I think they will all be. Easier for me to write it that way I guess. Anyway, it's revised but thank you to the people who commented and I just think that this one will be better than the short story version. lol
