Half In Love
So That's Your Name!
She had spoken to me. She had come over to the bar, where I worked, and spoken to me. Which meant she cared. Despite she told me what everyone else tells me she had still spoken to me. And her words were swimming round my mind. Her voice even, it sounded so sweet. But I still didn't know her name.
Looking over at her once again, I tried to figure out a name. Rebecca, Anne, Daniel, Misty. None of them fit her I thought. Sighing, I rubbed at my tired eyes and sat down on one of the stools on the inside of the bar. I knew I loved Elizabeth, but the way she had treated me recently had hurt. And Champagne Girl had been nice to me, she had seemed concerned about me. Then again, that could just be a cover. For more free champagne I suppose.
People around me were walking back and forth to Ted, getting drinks from him as I was on break and probably looked terrible. Glasses were passed back and forth in front of me, along with various amounts of money. I felt bad for not helping but I was so tired, but I couldn't leave or even think about sleeping. Champagne girl was right there, dancing happily. She had had a bump with a blond girl that looked far too much like Elizabeth. But I'm sure it wasn't her.
The music was beginning to die down but was still audible, just enough to keep me awake. I felt my eyelids drooping until they were fully closed. Leaning forward, I felt my skin touch against the smooth polished wood. I wasn't asleep, I heard Ted talking, then I heard glasses clinking. Then I heard her.
"Hello again sleepy head," she laughed. I sighed and opened my eyes. My legs were aching and my hair was stuck to my face. I was so tired. But she found a way to keep me up.
"Hello Cha- Stranger" I smiled crookedly. I was so tempted to call her Champagne Girl, but that would make me seem like a stalker.
"What were you about to call me?" She laughed again as I sat up to speak to her. I blushed, cringing inwardly at how awkward I must have seemed.
"Champagne girl.." I smiled again, she was looking at me with raised eyebrows.
"Well don't!" She shouted playfully, then paused. "My name, is Audrey use that instead," she stuck her tongue out mockingly.
"Thats a pretty name," I longed to say beautiful but I knew if I did, she would definitely freak out. This time Audrey blushed.
"Thank you, whats yours?"
"Ash, hey I'm about to get off wo-" I was implying for her to stay and talk to me in case she thought that she was about to have to go.
"Oh! Come over and sit with us then!" She was beaming and her cheeks were rosy. How much had she had to drink?
"Uhm..sure," not what I had hoped, but still good. I smiled awkwardly again and followed her over.
Okay.. Woo! Glad you all like it :)
Tini finally updated.
And Ash finally knows Audrey's name!
Yay! This was a cool update. Took two days because I've been recently sucked into facebook. :l Shame on me! Forgiveness would be nice in a comment :)
