Happy Birthday Angel
"Happy Birthday Angel"
Kayleigh wearily walked from her car to the house her and her boyfriend share. He wasn't going to make it back in time, you see today is her 25th birthday. It was like he'd completely forgotten, no card, no present, nothing not even a text or phone call.
Opening the front door she looked at the door mat hoping to find some post, cards maybe - nothing.
Dropping her bag on the floor she wandered down the hall towards the living room muttering sarcastically to herself about how brilliant her birthday had been.
But as she got to the doorway she saw a faint glow in the room. And rose petals.
Peering round the door frame she saw her boyfriend sat on the couch waiting her return.
"Frank what are you doing back? I wasn't expecting you back til next week!!" Kayleigh squealed as she wrapped her arms around him and he pulled her close to his body.
"Surprising you, that's what!" he whispered against her neck as he kissed the delicate skin, "I missed you soo much baby,"
"I missed you too honey. 6 months is a long time to be apart." Frank, you see, had been away on tour since July and hasn't been able to get away, " We didn't get to spend Christmas or even your birthday together!"
"I know baby, I'll make it up to you, I promise." Frank replied pulling away slightly and looked into her hazel eyes with blue flecks, "now go upstairs and have a shower and sort yourself out cuz dinner'll be ready in half an hour."
"You cooked?? Where did you learn??" Kayleigh asked surprised.
"Yeah Gerard taught me," Frank laughed at the thought of his best friend in an apron. Kayleigh giggled too, which Frank missed hearing.
"Okay I'll be down in a bit," Kayleigh replied kissing her boyfriend for the first time in ages.
Upstairs was decorated the same as downstairs, rose petals and candles everywhere. There was a single red rose sat on her pillow of their silk black sheets.
30 minutes later the newly reunited couple were sat on their decked patio eating their first meal together, which Frank cooked and their favorite vegetable bolognese.
"This tastes amazing Frankie," Kayleigh said sounding surprised.
"You should thank Gee next time you see him then," Frankie replied filling up his fork again.
"I will don't worry,"
Once dinner was finished Frank took their plates inside and told Kayleigh to go sit on the rug in the middle of the lawn. She did as she was told and Frank came and joined her 5 minutes later, his arms full.
His arms were full of presents. He bought something from every country he visited during the last 6 months of being away from his love.
"I love them ALL!!!" Kayleigh smiles hugging her boyfriend tight.
"I'm glad, now close your eyes and open your mouth," he giggled.
"Okay....."
Slowly a strawberry covered in whipped cream was raised to her mouth.
~time lapse~
Kayleigh lead with her head on Frank's chest listening to his heart gently thud against his rib cage. She thought about how he looked tonight. His black and red hair was a little longer than when she last saw him and he was slightly skinnier but he still looked gorgeous. His skinny jeans showed off the muscle in his legs, the curve of his bulge and the firmness of his ass with the waistband of his green silk boxers showing over the top slightly . His black top was tight against his chest. The smell of his aftershave that she missed so intensely. How he'd wake her up in the mornings for work by whispering sweet nothings in her ear and kissing her neck gently with breakfast in bed whether it was a special occasion or not. The way they would cuddle on the couch together watching T.V. and he'd play with her hair until she fell asleep where he would carry her up to bed and lay there watching her sleep until sleep came for him too.
"I love you Frank," she whispered not expecting him to hear.
"I love you too Kay," he replied lifting her chin to look at him, "more than you could ever imagine,"
They stared into each others eyes reading each others thoughts.
"I hate leaving you for months at a time," Frank said finally, kissing his girlfriend gently, "I'll be back in a second,"
With that he left the garden into the house, shaking and slightly nervous.
He came back out and found Kayleigh looking into their swimming pool, which had tea lights (mini candles in metal trays) floating on the surface.
"Baby..." he said nervously bringing her out of her thoughts abruptly.
"Yeah," she said turning to look at him.
"I've been thinking about asking you for a while now, I can't live without you," Frank spoke taking her hand in his, a little box in the other and dropped to one knee, "Will you marry me?"
"YES!!!" Kayleigh didn't even need to think about it she'd known for ages he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. He slipped the gold band with 3 clear crystals on her finger, a perfect fit, "I love you Frankie,"
"I love you too Kay," he said kissing her and holding her close, "Happy Birthday Angel,"
End.
