The Harpy in the Sky
Mason looked at Davis, his eyes burning with a look of (What the Hell??)
“You have got to be kidding! You didn't even answer my question. How can she change, how can I change? How can we all change?” Mason stammered, his eyes frantically shifting from Davis, Jen, and even Marco. “I mean...six months ago we were in hell. We were risking are lives, my husbands life was in danger every second, and now you waltz in here and ask us to stop something else. How dare you.” Marco shifted his weight under Mason rebuttal. Davis grinned.
“How dare I? I seem to think that I am not asking you to stop anything. They are coming to stop You! So before you bite my head off, get your facts straight. I know you were in danger, but you can't fight the Chimera with your elements. We aren't affected by it. It is useless. So yeah, if you want to die, then don't listen to me. They won't settle for a 'white flag' surrender. They are coming for blood. I want to stop the bloodshed. It is civil war in my world. We are miserable. My sister, I love her. I didn't want her to grow up as a lab rat, but she did. My sister Karson is 'half blind' she sees the past, and the sins and crimes and wrongs a person has committed. I see the future, and the sins, crimes and wrongs someone 'will' commit. Though my sight is subjective. It changes. I see that you will, stop the Guerrilla Chimera, as that's what they are calling themselves. I just can't see how. But I see that you all are together when it happens, even Cassie.” Davis finally stopped. Mason's look faded, he was actually listening. Shane shuffled his weight and set the exhausted Jen on the sofa. Claiming a set beside her.
“Fine.” is all Mason said.
Within an instant the floor seemed to fall away from Mason, as the onyx eyes peered into his. The felt the wind, brush through him. Felt the air blistering him, the invigorating sense. He was free, from it. Free from: battles, war, and everything that wasn't Marco. He realized now what was happening as he involuntary flapped his large blackened gray wings wings. . . He was flying. . . he was a eagle.
I am a eagle? He thought. It was hitting him fast. He couldn't think, his 'non' thoughts panicking him. He dove down loosing his grip on the flight. Fuck, pull up Mason. PULL UP!

Jen screamed. Mason was lying face down on the floor breathing heavily but still in his memory.
“He is falling.” She yelled. Marco jumped up to her words.
“He is fine. He can't die. He needs to control it before he can get out.” Davis spoke. Shane looked at him questioningly.
“No, How do I know he is falling?”
“Ah, well. Chimera's have powers also. You happen to be telepathic at the moment it seems to only reach to someone who is in their animal form.” Davis said grinning.
“But Mason isn't in his form.” Jen retorted.
“He is in the memory. So your power is seeing it as such.”

Mason was falling fast, the wind bursting around him as his form took the shape of a bullet. He was scared. He was going to die, and he was going to die an eagle. He could see the ground grow closer and closer. His speed was unimaginable. He was shooting down. He thought only one thing.
I am not going to die without seeing Marco.
He threw every ounce of his being into his attempt, feeling his lungs expand as the air grabbed his wings, lifting him up. Once again he was soaring, now he was in control. He felt his body, glide, he glanced at the ground below. The miniscule details, seeming so vibrant and large. Then they faded. Into the living room he had been at moments before.
Mason groaned. Marco quickly rushed to his side, helping him up. Davis grinned exuberantly at him. Mason nodded at the silent comment being made.
“Oh, by the way Mason. Its a Harpy Eagle.” Mason looked confused then the look faded.
“Thanks, I was wondering what type.”
“You are a Harpy Eagle?” Jen asked. Mason nodded.
Marco went to lay Mason next to Jen, but was stopped by the gripping arm of Davis.
“You turn?”
