Gaze Into Her Killing Jar
Four
I stirred in my sleep as light filtered into the room, awaking me from my empty dreams. I blinked a couple of times before I got up in a position where I was half laying down and half propped up on my pillow. I stared out the window at the morning sun. The colors of pink and orange lite the sky as the sun was coming up from the hills.
There was something burning in the back of my throat. As I acknowledged it, it grew more painful where I couldn't focus on my thoughts. I gasped for air, but that only made it worse. My door was kicked open and a man stood there staring at me with a panicked face. "What's wrong baby?"
"Burning," I breathed, still holding onto my throat.
His face relaxed. "It's just thirst, come on, let's go get some food into you."
He walked over towards me and helped me out of bed. His soft brown eyes studied mine as he held onto my hand. He guided me through the hallway and down the stairs. He slipped on his shoes as he gestured for me to do the same. I slipped mine on just before he pulled me out the door.
"Where are we going?" I asked, looking back over my shoulder at the big brick house.
"To go get some food into you." he muttered, leading me over to a big garage. He opened the side door to it, allowing me to go first.
"Oh god," I heard somebody cry out. "Please, I have a family, please don't kill me."
"We're not going to kill you, just make you more higher in the food chain than what you are." the guy said, trying to sooth the man. He turned towards me and gave me a small half smile. "Go on."
I only stared at him, feeling highly confused. He didn't say anything. He only waited patiently. I heard what sounded like a heart accelerating with fear, pumping a sweet sickly smell through the veins. I licked my lips and my teeth had a strange feeling. A small ache compared to the raging burn in my throat. I ran my tongue over where the four teeth were aching and found that they had grown out and were extremely sharp.
"Oh god, she's a newborn, isn't she, god, god, god, please, don't kill me-"
It was too late. I had already attached myself to his neck, sucking the blood right into my mouth and swallowing it feeling the burn dull. I continued this until the guy pulled me from the man. "Now his wrists."
I obediently obeyed, and sank my teeth into the man's wrist as he let out a howl of agony. That stirred something in my mind, and I blinked, letting his wrist fall to the floor. That scream sounded so familiar to me. I stared at the man's face who had tears streaking down his face.
"Kayla, why are you stopping, finish."
"No," I said, looking up at the man.
His brown eyes glared down at me. "Finish drinking now."
"I'm not going to drink anymore. This is cruel. I don't know what I am. But I'm certainly not going to bring pain pain and drain him of his blood. It's wrong."
I heard him mutter damn it and something about the shot not working effectively. "Have it your way." Without another word, he clamped his mouth on the other wrist and the man screamed again but with more pain. I watched as his body slowly went limp and the man released him.
I stood there and stared at the floor numbly. There was something about me that didn't feel right. I felt empty inside. I didn't know any of these people. Let alone where I was. Who I was. "I don't know any of you." I murmured more to myself than him.
"Yes you do honey, I'm William, your lover."
"Well, I certainly don't have any memories telling me that. Let alone where the hell I am."
He got quiet for a moment and then took a few strides over to me, wrapping his arms around me.He hugged me to my chest. "Oh my, I guess that blow from the fight last night certainly did more damage than I imagined it would've. You must've gotten hit so hard that it made you forget everything. Well I guess your memory will come back to you eventually. You'll remember me. How could you not?"
Something in his words made me feel reassured that he was right. I rested my head on his chest and hoped he was right.
Told you I had another update.
Now show some love pretty please?
