Gone in a moment

Animal i have become

Looking round the room, taking in her surroundings, looking at the few photographs that were neatly hooked up on the wall, at the six identical books lined up in on the windowsill.

“So why did you choose to come to me, out of everyone. I thought I’d be the last person you’d come to!” They asked curiously, sipping at their drink.

“Well” She pauses for a second “I didn’t know who else to turn to.” Josii replied looking down at her black and white converse.

“Hmmm! Well you made a good choice I guess” They replied sounding slight disappointed, placing the glass heavily on the little wooden table at the side of the chair!

There was a spine chilling silence for a few minutes that got broken when the cat jumped down from the top of the empty book case knocking over the broken lamp.

“Damned cat” They cursed!

Josii looked slightly scared and was sitting on the edge of the seat. She looked like she was going to make a brake for it at any second. Suddenly she jumped slightly, her phone vibrated in her pocket. She reached inside. It was Zoë saying” where are you babe, I’m worried about you, its getting late your mom will be worried. Please call me as soon as you get this. Love you lots babe xx”

She replied ” I’m fine, I just got some business to take care off. I’ll see you on the bus tomorrow babe. Love you too. Xx”

“What have I got to do for you to help me” Josii asked braking the silence again, which again was spine chilling.

Rubbing her arms she pulled down her sleeves, its cold in here she thought to her self. Rubbing her arms again to try and warm herself up, suddenly the fire lit up. Normally Josii didn’t feel the cold. But today, right now she was cold. The door creaked open as the cat pushed its way through.

“Are we going to get down to business then” Josii asked rather cockly

“OK then, wait here why I go get something you’ll need” They snapped back

Josii sat there thinking, *Have I done the right thing coming here* *What if this wasn’t a good idea*. She just sat there looking around again. Looking more closely at the books. When she looked at them first of all she believed they where identical but now looking at them she could see they had different titles, but the same cover. Even the font, color and size where the same on them.

She wanted to go inspect more closely, but she daren’t move, They would be very angry at her for not listening. Just at that moment they walked back in hushing the cat in to the hall and closing the door behind it. Chucking Josii at towel containing something fair heavy, they sat down.

“Don’t open it in here. I don’t want anyone to know you have that. Do not look at it. And what ever you do, do not tell anyone you have got it. I want you to dispose of it. Get rid of it at the first opportunity.” They instructed her!

Doing as she was told Josii stuffed the objected covered in the white checked towel, in to her bag right to the bottom. Zipping it up, she got up to leave. Opening the living room door and closing it behind her, she walked to the front door. Opening it, trying to be as quite as she could. She walks slowly out the door calling back “ I’ll be back when I sorted it”

Walking down the stairs and back out the front door, which didn’t creak as she opened it. Looking round at the cars, making sure know one was watching her.
She was curious about what was in the in the towel, but she daren’t look at is, they’d find out, they always did. She pulled her phone out of her pocket, looking at the clock it was 21:13 pm. It was getting late, Josii mom hadn’t called to check she was ok. That wasn’t like her
.
Josii set off to the river. I’ll throw it in the deep bit half way up “Nab Path” as everyone called it Josii thought to herself. It was going to be deserted at this time. By the time she got there it was 21:47. Making sure know one was watching her, she unzipped her bag and got the checker towel out, chucking it in the river, making a huge splash.
