Living While Dead
a Lively encounter
We entered the house and Alice told me to wait while she woke up the family. First her husband came down the steps. “hello Amelia, my name is Alex, how are you this morning?”
“Im doing fine, quite tired though!” I replied.
“where are Aeron and Toby?” Alice asked Alex.
“probably still asleep, ill go get them.” He replied. He turned and smiled at me then proceeded up the staircase. I heard footsteps in the room above the kitchen as Alice got me some food and a glass of water. Toby came down the stairs first. He walked up to me and said, “im Toby.” He turned around went back up the stairs to bed. I started laughing. Aeron had changed into his Pajamas and messed up his hair. He walked down the steps, half asleep. He walked up to me and said “hi Amelia, im Aeron .”
“good morning Aeron, its lovely to meet you. You look quite tired so I wont keep you all up any longer, what room will I be staying in?”
“you will stay with Aeron in his room, if that’s fine with you.” Alice replied.
“its quite alright, im sure it wont be a problem.” I replied.
“well we should probably go to the mall tomorrow, and get you new clothes. Okay?” Alice said
“I would love that!” I said. “goodnight everyone.”
I looked at Aeron and he showed me to our room. We entered and hugged each other, they bought it! I was so happy I could live again. Go shopping, meet people, and hang out with Aeron. Alice brought a blow up mattress for Aeron to sleep on. I got some of Alice’s pajamas on and went to bed. The next day, Alice woke me up at 9:30 and we had breakfast. Imagine not eating for as many years that I have been dead! It was only eggs and bacon, but it felt like I was a king eating in a castle! I thanked Alice for the meal, and we were off to the mall.
We went into some really interesting stores while Alice helped me pick out some shirts and jeans. Some girls came up to me with a fake smile.
“Hi im Kelly,” the first one said. The other ones were silent. “are you new around here?”
“hi im Amelia. Im a new foreign exchange student.”
“well if you have any taste, you wouldn’t shop with that woman.” Kelly said.
“well if you were smart, you wouldn’t be bothering me right now.” I replied.
She scoffed, than walked away. I laughed on the inside and returned to my shopping. Alice and I went outside the mall and found an old fashioned clothing store. I ran inside and picked out some dresses that were too expensive for me to buy when I was a kid. I found a special hat that I always had wanted from the hat shop when I was little. Now I could have it and love it with all my heart. We finished up and went to the car to go home… I had school the nest day!
