A Whole New Beginning

Mel looks at the man who walks in front of her.
She thinks that he deserves respect, and he gets it too.
Maybe he doesn’t know how much respect he deserves, maybe he doesn’t know how much many people fear him.
She could clearly see that people, who didn’t know the person inside, would be very afraid of him, when they look into his cold, ice blue eyes.
She felt like he was some sort of teacher and everyone else were young not knowing pupils t this man.
“What’s your name?”, she asked with low voice.
“My name?” he said. “Well, it’s Nicholas, but everyone calls me Nick, so you can do that too.”
Mel went quiet, she didn’t know what to say next, maybe it was best to shut up and just walk behind Nick.
She decided that it probably would be best to not disturb him.
The smell she felt, was a mix of coffee from her clothes, and his expensive perfume.
She drowned in it and she actually didn’t mind.
Why didn’t she resist when she had the chance to run away.
She didn’t know but she couldn’t resist it, and before she knew it, she was inside his apartment.
She sat down into his big couch and put her legs on another chair half a meter from where she was sitting.
Why did she love this room so much, ha she been there before, not likely.
Nick sat down next to her and started talking, she didn’t listen, she just nodded and smiled the few times she heard what he actually said.
She couldn’t stop thinking of how it would be living with Nick.
“Do you have any bathroom here, Nick?”, she finally asked.
“Down the hall over there, then third door on your right, you can’t miss it”, he answered with a smile.
Mel went down the hall and took the second door to the right, she got shocked when she entered the room.
Everywhere she turned, there were articles about different accidents that happened to kids.
She looked and read a few, then she saw a desk behind the door, there it was, an article with a big picture of Joey in his hospital bed.
“The boy that has less than twenty five percent chance to live, he’s in a coma and the doctors are uncertain about keeping him alive.”
She read and when she was done she felt dizzy and almost fainted, but then she went out into the hall and took the next door and then came to the bathroom.
