Confused as to why Lauren was acting the way she was, Nick looked at her, worry and sadness evident in his eyes. Sighing, he moved a little closer to his girlfriend, hoping she wouldn’t run again.
“Lauren, what’s the matter? Why did you run off? Please answer me” Nick’s voice croaked as he spoke.
“Go away Nick. Find someone else, someone who isn’t using you.” Shoving Nick away slightly, Lauren turned on her heal as she spoke.
“Lauren, what are you on about? Why would I find someone else? You aren’t using me are you? No you’re not, you’re not the type of girl to do that to someone” Nick, once again, moved closer to Lauren.
“Im on about everyone thinking im using you. You need to find someone else to please that tramp your brothers dating” Lauren kept her back to Nick, as she finished her sentence she felt a pair of arms wrap tightly around her waist, stopping her from running again.
“No one thinks you’re using me Lauren. And I don’t need to find someone else, im in love you with ok. And why are you calling Emily a tramp, I thought you were friends?” Nick’s voice was full of confusion.
“Yes they do” the tears were welling once again in Lauren’s eyes. “Im not calling Emily a tramp, im on about the other one. And look, don’t get my hopes up ok, I knew it was a bad idea agreeing to go out with you once I knew who you really were, people like me and people like you don’t mix, we don’t make good couples” by the time Lauren had finished speaking the tears were flowing freely.
“Camilla, I knew it would be her. I don’t know who she thinks she is but she’s seriously annoying me. People like us do make a good couple Lauren, you have to believe that. And look, I do love you, if anyone’s getting the others hopes up its you” Nick had spun Lauren around, moving one of his arms; gently he wiped away Lauren’s tears.
“Do you mean it? And im not getting your hopes up, im not normally a girl to believe in love and stuff, and im not the type of girl to fall for someone so easily, but with you I did. End of.”
“Of course I mean it. Do you mean it?” Looking down at Lauren, worry was now evident in Nicks tone.
“Would I still be here if I didn’t? Do you really think I would have come to this park? Of all the parks in LA?” Lauren looked up at Nick, taking in his fabulous brown eyes.
“I don’t know” Nick shook his head, he did know the answer though, he just needed to hear it from Lauren.
“Well then, of course I mean it” standing on her tip-toes Lauren kissed Nick’s nose before putting her head against his chest.
“I really do love you Lauren, I don’t think ive ever fallen for someone as fast as ive fallen for you” resting his head against Lauren’s, he smiled.
“I love you too Nick” Lauren now had a smile from one ear to the other.
The couple stood, silence filled the air between the two. It wasn’t an awkward silence though, it was a comfortable one. The two now knew how the other felt, both in love and full of inspiration to do something to show the each other how they felt in full. Lauren was sure none of her friends but Emily would have ever felt this way before, none of them had felt the pure love she felt for Nick. While Lauren thought about that, Nick was thinking about how amazing he felt, being there with Lauren stood in the park, arms around each other. The smiles never left their faces.
Back at the girl’s apartment, Emily was pacing around the small living room. Kevin sat on the sofa, watching his girlfriend, worried for her and Lauren. As Kevin watched Emily, his heart sank. He knew that if she could she would be out there, in the cold, looking for her best friend, but because of him she was pacing the small space of the living room, her eyes red from crying. The only thought running through Emily’s head was ‘Is Lauren ok?’ She needed to help, she wanted to help, but Kevin wanted her here, inside, out of the cold weather where she could get ill. Sighing, Emily sat down on the sofa next to Kevin again. She was angry at him for making her stay in, but she was in love with him to much to show her anger.
“Look Kevin, Lauren is pretty emotional some times. When she gets upset like she is now, she blows everything out of proportion. She might have done something silly, especially if it has something to do with Nick. She’s never liked anyone the way she likes Nick, she’s actually falling in love with him. Im sorry, but im going to kill your brother if he’s hurt her” Emily took a deep breath after finishing.
“Look, im sure Nick’s found her and she’s fine ok. Well, Nick’s falling in love with her too so I don’t think he has done something. I bet it has something to do with Camilla. If it is something to do with Nick or Joe, I give you permission to kill them ok” Smiling, Kevin wrapped his arms around Emily before kissing her cheek.
After sitting in silence for a little while, Kevin’s phone rang. Standing up, he answered the phone, walking slightly away from the sofa. Emily wasn’t really paying attention but she did hear Nick’s name. Not bothering to listen, Emily stood and walked to the balcony. Swinging the doors open, she let the cool LA night air waft through the doors. Sitting back down on the sofa, Kevin closed his phone and put it back in his pocket before sitting next to Emily.
“Nick found Lauren. They’ve gone to get a drink before they come back”
“Thank god, I was so worried she might have done something” moving closer to Kevin, Emily rested her head on his chest.
“Well, she’s fine. Nick said Camilla had something to do with it but didn’t tell me what went on exactly.” Kevin sat, playing with a strand of Emily’s neatly layered hair.
“Ok, ill talk to her tomorrow” Emily yawned as she spoke.
“Yeah, you should get some sleep. You look so tired” still playing with the same strand of hair; Kevin rubbed his other hand over Emily’s back.
“Yeah” with that, Emily’s eyes closed and she drifted off to sleep, leant on Kevin’s chest.
There's some intense drama coming up.
