Since going out on their first dates, Lauren has spent loads of time with Nick and Emily has spent loads of time with Kevin. When the girls haven’t been with the boys they have been in lectures, working or spending very little time together. Lauren regrets not spending so much time with Emily because she misses their girly chats and stupid but very fun crazy moments when they just get up and start dancing stupidly to some song or fall about in fits of laughter.
As Lauren sat down on the floor, her laptop on the table in front of her, there was a knock on the door. Shouting for Emily to get it, who was still standing up in the kitchen she turned on her laptop. Music was playing from the big speakers that Lauren had plugged her ipod into. Making lots of noise as she went, Emily wandered through from the kitchen to the front door. Reaching it, Emily shouted at Lauren to turn her music down so she could hear when she opened the door. Begrudgingly Lauren stood up and made her way over to her ipod to turn it down. While Lauren turned down the music, Emily swung the door open, revealing Nick and Kevin. Smiling she moved out of the way to let Nick in, before moving back over to Kevin and hugging him, as she hugged him, he kissed the top of her head. Nick walked into the living room, where Lauren sat crossed legged in front of her laptop, shouting at it to hurry up.
“Hurry up you stupid laptop. I actually need to check my email today ya’know” Lauren’s frustrated voice rang through the apartment.
“Uhm... Lauren, I don’t think it’s going to answer you.” Laughing Lauren turned to face where the familiar voice of Nick had came from.
“Oh, it will. My laptops special and talks to me.” Smiling Lauren stood up, walking over to Nick; she wrapped her arms around him, kissing his cheek slightly.
“Well, I want one then. Or is there only one special talking laptop out there?” Nick laughed again causing Lauren too pull away and poke her tongue out at him.
“There is, so there. Im the only one special enough to have one of these” sitting back down Lauren smiled as her laptop had finally shown her, her emails.
Emily and Kevin still stood in the hallway, arms wrapped around each other, speaking quietly to one another. Smiling, Emily unwrapped her arms and grabbed Kevin’s hand, pulling him into the living room. Sitting down on the sofa together, Emily leant her head against Kevin’s shoulder. Nick was sat next to Lauren, one arm around her waist, reading something over her shoulder. Smiling Lauren looked around at Nick, having obviously shown him the email from her cousin saying that she was having a baby. Interrupting everyone’s thoughts Kevin spoke, a saddened tone in his voice.
“Girls, we came here to tell you about something that’s happening” Kevin looked down at Emily before looking over at Nick.
“Well, we have to go away for 2 weeks. We’re doing some stuff for the press, a few interviews and appearances on programmes. The usual stuff really. Its just means that we aren’t going to be here for, like I said, 2 weeks.” Nick looked at Lauren, an apologetic smile on his face.
“So you’re going away for a few weeks?” Emily spoke first, Lauren too shocked at Nick’s expression to say anything.
“Well, yeah, basically” Kevin spoke to Emily, Nick still wearing the same expression.
“Im sorry Lauren, I don’t want to leave you” Nick whispered quietly into Lauren’s ear.
Shaking her head, Lauren replied, “Don’t worry about it. Your work’s important, I understand and im sure Emily does too. Anyway, it’ll give us to chance to catch up on random things and go and eat McDonalds and get Ice cream all the time again”.
“Yeah, I understand. I was actually thinking about how me and Lauren need to catch up some how” Emily smiled reassuringly at Kevin.
“Look, we need to go back to England too, this is the perfect opportunity to go” Lauren smiled at both boys.
“Are you sure though? I mean, we didn’t even tell you until now and we leave Friday” Nick looked at Lauren for some kind of anger or upset.
“Don’t worry about it. Look we lived before we met you, we lived after we met you and you left us without anyway of contacting you. And we will live while your gone boys. Honestly” Emily smiled once again at Kevin.
“Ok, well if you’re both sure” Kevin looked between the girls, his eyes locking with Emily’s the second he turned back to her.
“We’re as sure as a plant attracts a bee.” Lauren smiled at her little phrase, remembering it for future use.
After about an hour or so, the boys we’re leaving. It had been arranged that they would come back to the girls apartment on Thursday night, having to leave during the early hours of Friday morning, to say goodbye. They also arranged to meet up the night after the boys got home, they would double, or possibly triple if Joe and Camille wanted to come too, date. All the time this was arranged, music was played in the back ground, while Lauren typed away doing assignments that were due in the following day. Nick stayed, sat just behind Lauren, one arm wrapped loosely around her waist, the whole time she typed. The more she concentrated the faster she typed, causing both Kevin and Nick too look at her, Emily explained about Lauren typing fast when she concentrated properly on things. When they reached the door, Emily hugged Kevin as she said her goodbyes, kissing him quickly and gently she blushed and moved to the door to open it for the 2 boys. Lauren and Nick were just inside the door of the living room, smiling Nick pulled Lauren into a hug, pecking her lips she smiled at him. As he left for the door, Lauren squeezed his hand, before letting it go and watching him leave.
2 days later, Thursday night, 20.28pm – Lauren and Emily’s apartment balcony.
Smiling, Emily leaned in closer to Kevin. The boys had shown up an hour previously, deciding it was a nice night, Emily and Lauren opened the balcony doors. The four then ended up, sat on the uncomfortable chairs around the small table. The sun was slowly beginning to set over the late May sky in LA. Sighing Lauren remembered how she had always thought of seeing a sky setting over the city was cliché that people only had that in movies, especially when they were with someone that they were slowing beginning to fall in love with.
Moving closer to one another, Kevin and Emily shared a romantic moment. The sun setting made a romantic moment spark between the 2. Looking into each other’s eyes they moved a little bit closer to the other, their lips met in the middle. The 2 shared their first passionate kiss, enjoying the moment; Emily’s smile widened to the biggest it had been since she found out that both she and Lauren had got in to the college together. Lauren looked over briefly before turning back to the setting sun, smiling she felt happy for Emily, this is the happiest Lauren had seen Emily in a long time. Nick stole a quick glance too, after seeing the smile spread across Lauren’s face. He too felt happy, finally Kevin was happy with someone who was so nice to everyone she met, even if they weren’t the nicest they could be to her.
“So, you two are going over to England tomorrow.” Nick started a conversation.
“Yup, I don’t really want to go so soon, but Emily wanted to go for a long weekend and this is the only chance we get for months to have a long weekend” Lauren shrugged as she explained to Nick.
“Oh right, well it’ll be nice to see your family, I’d hate to be away from mine for as long as you have” Nick looked almost apologetic as he spoke, but the edge of annoyance could be heard as he spoke.
“Yeah, I really need to see my crazy lot.” Lauren’s tone softened as she heard Nick’s annoyed tone because she wasn’t really paying attention, “I guess its good that im going now. Im starting to get a little home sick, even though this is my home now”.
“Cool, well I would say to you say hi for me, but ive never met them and if you say oh yeah, by the way Nick Jonas said hi, they might think your going crazy” Lauren and Nick laughed at this.
“Nick, they know Lauren’s crazy, why do you think they didn’t have a problem sending her out here” Smiling Emily laughed too.
“You got it one Em” Lauren was now almost in hysterics.
After calming down the 2 couples went into their own little conversations. Lauren and Nick were talking about how they were going to miss each other while Nick was away, while Emily and Kevin were talking about how they couldn’t wait to go out together when the boys got back from doing what they had to do. Growing bored, Lauren went back into the apartment and turned on music, making sure not to put on a play list with lots of the Jonas Brothers on.
At 11 o’clock, the boys had to leave. Emily and Kevin went inside, standing just inside of the living room door, they hugged. Whispering ‘goodbye’ and ‘im going to miss you so much’ into each others ears, they both smiled. Snaking her arms around Kevin’s neck, Emily kissed Kevin lightly, gently on the lips, before resting her head on his chest and listening to his heart beat, whilst taking in his familiar cologne. Lauren and Nick stood on the balcony, enjoying the slight winds and warm air. Wrapping her arms around Nick’s chest, Lauren smiled up at him, before kissing his lips gently. Resting her head on his shoulder she held back the tears, before whispering into his ear ‘Im going to miss you so much, even though ive known you for 2 weeks and ive only been with you just over a week’. Before saying ‘goodbye’ to one another, Nick promised to ring and told Lauren he was going to miss her too.
