Can't have you.

41.

Lauren and Claire left the boys hotel after much protest from the boys. They jumped into a taxi and went back to their homes, Claire giving Lauren money for the taxi fare when she was dropped off at her parent’s home. When Lauren got back to her parents hotel, she glumly went inside and trudged up to her old bedroom, sitting on the bed when she was in the room.

1 week later and Lauren and Claire were almost ready to move out to LA. The things they couldn’t take with them had been put into storage or had been sold while a lot of their things had been sent out to Emily. Both girls had handed in their 2 weeks notice the first day back at work and were working extra shifts when possible so that they could save up enough money for when they moved out to LA.

The boys had rented a car and were picking the girls up to go out on the one day they both had free before they moved out to LA. They were going to go around Bristol and then maybe to Weston so that the boys could see some of the places Lauren and Claire used to hang around.

“Lauren, the boys and Claire are here.” Lauren’s mum called from the hallway.

“Ok, im coming now.” Lauren said as she grabbed her bag, phone and jacket.

Lauren ran down the stairs and skidded to a halt just in front of Nick. She smiled up and him before hugging him. Nick bent down and kissed Lauren’s forehead before speaking.

“Hi.” He grinned.

“Hey.” Lauren grinned back.

“Ready to go?” Claire asked from in the living room where she was watching TV with Lauren’s younger sisters.

“Im just gunna grab a drink. Does anyone want anything?” Lauren asked.

“Yeah sure.” The boys smiled.

“Follow me then dears.” Lauren grinned before leading them to the kitchen.

Lauren’s brother, Kieran was sat in the kitchen eating breakfast when they walked in. he glowered at both boys before going back to eating his frosties.

“Water or coke?” Lauren quizzed, her head hid by the fridge door.

“Water.” Joe and Nick said at the same time.

“Ok, here you go.” Lauren said as she pulled out 2 bottles of water, a can of red bull for Claire and a can of coke for herself.

“Lauren, I want to talk to them privately.” Kieran said.

“Nope, im not leaving. You’re not allowed to hurt either of them, especially Nick.” Lauren grinned.

“What about me?” Joe pouted.

“You’re older than Kieran. Anyway, you’ve done nothing wrong.” Lauren said, sitting down on Nick’s lap, who had sat down on one of the chairs opposite Kieran and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Joe stood, his back to the kitchen side, just by the door in case Kieran decided to get all possessive big brother again.

“Please Lauren?” Kieran almost begged.

“Not a chance. Now go ahead and be nice. Not after last time and you weren’t even alone with them.” Lauren grinned at her brother.

“Fine, you stay, ill be nice.” Kieran sighed as he took a seat.

“Good.” Lauren said as she moved so Nick could see Kieran.

“Basically, im warning you. Hurt my little sister or Claire and ill find you and break your pretty boy faces.” Kieran said, his face holding no emotions.

“Im not going to.” Nick said.

“Don’t look at me, I don’t plan on ever hurting either of them.” Joe said.

“Good.” Kieran said, his voice not as hard as before.

“We’re going. See you later Kieran.” Lauren said as she moved from Nick’s lap.

“See you.” Kieran muttered.

Lauren dragged Joe and Nick from the kitchen after she had picked up the cans from the side. She muttered about how predictable Kieran was before chucking Claire her can of red bull and walking out of the front door.

“Where are we going?” Joe asked as he climbed into the back seat with Claire.

“Ill direct Nick to some places. I don’t know where yet though.” Lauren grinned as she slid into the passenger’s seat, Nick getting in the drivers seat.

“So. Where to first?” Nick asked, starting the car.

Lauren told Nick some directions and soon enough they were all at the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Nick parked and everyone got out and walked over to the bridge, sitting on the grass next to it. Lauren and Nick were sat closet to the path because of Lauren’s phobia of heights while Joe and Claire were sat a little closer to the edge, but still no where near the edge.

“Lauren, can we go get red bull?” Claire called.

“I want some too, so yeah, if Nick doesn’t mind driving us.” Lauren called back while grinning at Nick.

“I don’t mind.” Nick smiled before kissing Lauren.

“Yay!” Claire squealed as she wrapped her arms around Joe, kissing him gently.

“Come on then.” Lauren called when Joe and Claire were still sat kissing after a few minutes.

“Coming.” Claire smiled as she stood up, pulling Joe with her.

“Alright.” Lauren smiled, lacing her fingers with Nick’s as they walked to the car.

“Lauren, when we go back to LA, will things go back to how they were before?” Nick asked shyly.

“Nick, they’re back to how they were before now.” Lauren giggled.

“I know but I don’t want things to change.” Nick admitted.

“They won’t.” Lauren promised as she brushed a stray curl out of Nick’s face.

“Good.” He grinned.

“Good.” Lauren repeated before letting go of Nick’s hand and walking around the car to get in.

When Claire and Joe got to the car, Lauren and Nick were already in and strapped in, the radio playing softly in the back ground. Both strapped in quickly while Nick drove off towards the shop Lauren was directing him too.

As they drove, a familiar song came on the radio that Claire and Lauren instantly wanted to have the radio turned up as they sang along. Lauren reached forward and turned the radio up as she sang along to the all too familiar words. I don’t wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith was blaring through the speakers as the girls sang along, remembering when they went to school together.

The boys sat in silence, smiles on their faces as they listened to the girls sing along to the song they also knew well.

“And I don’t wanna miss a thing!” Claire and Lauren sang in sync.
