Can't have you.
40.
While Lauren and Claire said their goodbyes to Nick and Joe. Emily and Kevin sat around the coffee table in the living room of their apartment. Address books, pieces of paper and pens, strewn across the table. Emily was busy flicking through her address book, writing down names and addresses to her family and friends that would be invited to the wedding. Even though a date had yet to be set, the couple decided to send out pre-date invitations, where they would tell the guest’s that they had been invited to the wedding but a date was yet to be set.
“Kevin, can you write some of these down while I get a drink please?” Emily asked.
“Sure, what ones?” Kevin smiled.
“The ones with a pink dot next to their name.” Emily smiled as she stood and walked into the kitchen to get a drink.
When Emily came back into the room, Kevin was looking through his contacts on his black berry. The sound of Emily placing her cup onto the table made Kevin look up and smile.
“Did you do those other ones?” Emily asked.
“A few, I remembered I had a load of people on here so I decided to get them off.” Kevin said, waving his blackberry around.
“Oh right.” Emily smiled as she began to sort out the many names.
“Let’s invite Taylor, you know Taylor Swift.” Kevin said, looking at his blackberry.
“Nu huh, she’ll do something to split Claire and Joe up and ruin my big day. Not gunna happen.” Emily said, snatching the blackberry from Kevin’s grasp before kissing him gently.
“Fine.” Kevin mumbled before looking down at the list of guests on the table.
“So much for a small wedding.” Emily grumbled, also looking at the list.
“I know, we both have so many friends and family to invite.” Kevin said.
“Do you think we should kind of, miss out a few for the actual wedding and then just invite people for the after party?” Emily asked, a worried expression portraying her face.
“I don’t know. How about we see how many more people we have to put down. We might just have to have a big wedding.” Kevin mumbled.
“Ok.” Emily said, once again flicking through her large address book.
After another half an hour, the list of guests seemed to have doubled in size. Emily grumbled a few incoherent words before walking into the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Kevin followed behind her and wrapped his arms around Emily’s waist.
“Do you wanna cut people off of the list?” Kevin asked.
“Then id feel mean.” Emily mumbled.
“I guess you’d have to feel mean. I don’t want you to be unhappy for our wedding.” Kevin said softly.
“I know, but, I don’t know how we’re going to be able to do it. Not everyone will be able to get out here for a start. Im worried about the amount of people that I want to come and then im worried about the amount of people I don’t want to come but will end up finding out this wedding some how and ill end up inviting them because I feel bad about it.” Emily grumbled in one breath before turning around in Kevin’s arms to face him.
“Look, how about we forget about all the guest lists and stuff and we just sit around and watch some really boring movie and eat popcorn?” Kevin asked.
“Ok.” Emily mumbled, her head in Kevin’s chest.
“Come on. What really boring film?” Kevin asked jokingly.
“None, just put the TV on and sit and pretend to watch it.” Emily said shrugging.
“Ok.” Kevin smiled before leading Emily into the living room.
Emily and Kevin sat down on the sofa together, the TV playing the background as they sat there, talking about how they had met and how things had changed so much in little less than a year. Emily couldn’t imagine how life would be if she and Lauren hadn’t got into the college to in LA and moved there.
This one is overly short and ive only just realised that. So sorry
