Lauren and Nick stood looking at the many guitars, while the man at the counter shut and locked the doors, closing the blinds slightly. Nick nodded his thanks at the man before gently moving away from Lauren and picking up a guitar.
“Do you mind?” Nick asked.
“No go ahead.” The man said, a smile on his face.
“Thanks. Lauren ring Kevin and ask him to come over please?” Nick said.
“Sure.” Lauren smiled, walking away slightly and pulling her phone out of her pocket.
Quickly, Lauren dialled the number she knew as Kevin’s. There were a few moments before the ringing started and Kevin answered.
“Hello?” Kevin said.
“Hey, Kevin. It’s Lauren. Nick and I are kind of trapped in a guitar shop down the road with the paparazzi waiting for us outside.” Lauren said sheepishly.
“Trust you two.” Kevin said laughing.
“Could you come and get us? Maybe come round the back?” Lauren said.
“Sure, you’ll have to give me like an hour though because ive just gone into town.” Kevin said.
“That’s fine. Nick’s playing around on one of the guitars anyways.” Lauren said smiling over at Nick.
“Ok, have fun.” Kevin laughed.
“Will do. Thanks Kev, bye.” Lauren said.
“That’s ok, Bye.”
Lauren hung up and walked back over to Nick, the sunglasses and hat still placed firmly on her head. She smiled and sat down on the floor in front of Nick. Nick looked up and smiled.
“Hey.” He said gently.
“Hi.” Lauren said just as gently.
“Is Kevin coming?”
“Yeah, he said he’s not going to be an hour though so you can play with the guitars and decide what one you’re going to buy.” Lauren smiled.
“Im not going to buy one.”
“You are too. I know you.” Lauren said, poking out her tongue.
“Alright, I probably will but ive gotta find a good one first.” Nick said, softly strumming the guitar.
“What are you playing.” Lauren whispered.
“A song me and the guys wrote when we toured with Avril. Its called What Did I Do To Your Heart.” Nick said, smiling sheepishly.
“It sounds good.” Lauren smiled.
“I guess so.” Nick said.
“Will you teach me?” Lauren asked.
“Teach you what?” Nick looked confused.
“To play.” Lauren said gesturing to the guitar.
“I guess so. But not now.” Nick said.
“Oh ok.” Lauren pouted.
“If you guys want you can go into the practice room out back. They teach kids to play guitar back there sometimes and no one can get back without the code. I need to open the shop back so I guess that will probably be best.” The tall man behind the counter said.
“Do you mind?” I asked, speaking to the assistant for the first time.
“Nah, its fine.” The man smiled.
“Thanks, can you not tell them about her.” Nick said, gesturing to Lauren.
“Yeah course.” The man said.
“Thanks.” Nick nodded.
“There’s guitars back there so you can teach her to play too.”
“Ok thanks.” Nick said smiling as him and Lauren walked through the door the man had just opened.
The couple walked into the big room, to their left there was another door with the words ‘Practice Room’, written on the door. Lauren smiled and opened it, revealing 2 chairs and many guitars and a piano. Lauren walked in and sat down on the chair furthest from the piano so Nick could play it if he wanted too.
“You ok?” Nick asked Lauren.
“Yeah im amazing.” Lauren smiled as she pulled off the cap and sunglasses.
“Good.” He smiled, taking the seat near the piano.
“Can you start to teach me now please?” Lauren asked.
“Of course I can honey.” Nick said as he picked up a guitar and passed it to Lauren before picking up an identical one to the one he had just passed Lauren.
“Thank you.” Lauren smiled while she held the guitar in her arms.
“Hold it like im holding mine.” Nick directed.
Lauren placed the guitar in her hands the same as Nicks.
“Is this right? It doesn’t feel like it.” Lauren said, balancing the guitar on her knee.
“Yeah that’s it. Oh wait, your left handed aren’t you.” Nick said.
“Yeah, is that a problem?”
“No, ill just teach you the right handed way, you’ll be able to pick it up.” Nick said smiling.
“Ok.” Lauren smiled.
Nick told Lauren a few things before showing her a few cords. After 10 minutes, Lauren screwed up her nose, deciding she would never get it.
“Come on baby. Look, its not that hard once you’ve practiced. Let me show you.” Nick said, standing up and sitting behind Lauren.
He placed his hands on top of Lauren’s and began moving their hands, softly they began to strum on the guitar. Lauren smiled as she looked at her hands, Nick’s were no longer on top of hers and she was gently strumming on her own accord. She giggled with excitement as Nick sat down in front of her and watched as she played the same 2 cords over and over again as her smile grew larger.
“You’re a natural.” Nick smiled.
“Not really, you have just been an amazing teacher.” Lauren said, drawing her eyes away from her hands to look at Nick.
“Believe me you are.” Nick grinned before being interrupted by his phone ringing.
“You better get it, it might be Kevin.” Lauren said, going back to watching her hands play the 2 cords she now knew.
“Ok.” Nick said, standing and answering his phone.
After a few moments, Nick hung up and placed his phone back in his pocket.
“Its Kevin. Come on, we gotta get going.” Nick said, sticking out his hand.
Lauren took it after placing the guitar onto the floor and then standing gracefully. She slid the sunglasses and cap back on before lacing her fingers with Nick’s.
“Where’s he meeting us?” Lauren asked.
“Out the back, we have to go through the back door. Wait here while I go and tell the bloke we’re leaving.” Nick said, placing a quick soft kiss on Lauren’s lips.
Nick walked quickly to the front of the shop and in a few moments was back at Lauren’s side. He walked out and laced his fingers with Lauren’s before walking out the back entrance to the shop.
While Lauren and Nick left the guitar shop, Kevin and Emily sat waiting patiently in Kevin’s jeep with blacked out windows. At Claire’s and Lauren’s hotel, Joe and Claire sat, watching TV on the widescreen opposite the sofa. Joe had his arm draped around Claire’s shoulder while she leant on his chest, her head moving as his chest rose and fell again as he breathed.
“Joe?”
“Yeah honey?” Joe asked looking down at Claire.
“Why me?”
“What do you mean why you?”
“Why me? Of all the celebrities and girls you could have, why me?”
“Because you are awesome. You’re down to earth, you admit to listening to our music but don’t gush about it, you’re cute and even though ive only known you for like 2 days, I think im falling for you.” Joe smiled.
“Joe, I think im falling for you too.” Claire said, smiling from ear to ear.
Gently, Joe placed a soft kiss on Claire’s lips, a smile on his face. Claire’s smiled matched Joe’s, the two seemed to be inseparable.

“No go ahead.” The man said, a smile on his face.
