A Boy and a Girl
A Monster and a Tragedy.
There once was a boy everyone thought as a monster. But of course there was also a girl a little girl no one noticed almost as if she were invisible. If they were seeing her it was to yell at her. She was not perfect in anyway just like everyone else she had her flaws. She was an addict to pills and a cutter. No one noticed. She didn’t even try to hide the cuts or the scars it was pointless. The monster didn’t know she existed either but she saw him. She saw the things they did to him and what he was really like. He wasn’t a monster he was just different. He was beautiful and caring. One day the monster was sitting by himself when she saw him. It was decided that now was her only chance. She sat next to him. At first he didn’t notice her but he felt her eyes on him. Slowly he turned his head to face her.
“Why do they call you a monster?”
“Honestly, I have no idea. I never did anything to them.” He put his head down and let out a sad sigh.
“I’m sorry.” She wrapped her arms around the him.
“Do you think I’m a monster?” he looked up into her eyes hoping praying that she didn’t.
“No. Not at all.” He continued to stare in her eyes they were having their own conversation in their head they both seemed to understand. She finally pulled her eyes from their connection with his and put her head down. His hand slid under her chin and slowly rose her sad head.
“I’m a monster.” He whispered and she understood.
“I’m a tragedy.”
“Would you like to be my friend?” Her eyes gleamed.
“Only if you’ll be mine.”
“Only if I can be the very best.”
“Then it’s settled you’re my new best friend.” She smiled widely but looked down yet again. His hand found its way under her chin and lifted her head up again.
“Do best friends kiss?” he asked shyly as he took his turn putting his head down.
“They could,” she smiled. He lifted his head and they both leaned in. They kissed gently. Like in the movies as they zoom in on a couple kissing but a car came into view. It tried to turn but failed. It slammed on its breaks but not soon enough. Neither the tragedy nor the monster saw it coming. The car collided with the two best friends sharing their kiss. Killing them on impact, they died instantly. They lay next to each other in two small graves. Their head stones covered by the shade of a large tree. In the moonlight I sit writing their sad tale as I stare onto the two names, Tragedy and Monster. A single tear is shed for them. One heart is broken, and its mine. For I loved them both.
