The Fourteen Days Of Valentines

01

On February first there was a dozen red roses and a card on her porch.

On the second there was a dozen red roses and a king sized Hershey’s with almonds.

On the third there were a dozen red roses, a king sized Hershey’s with almonds, and a teddy bear.

On the fifth there were a dozen red roses, a king sized Hershey’s with almonds, a teddy bear, and mix CD of love songs.

Every day there was more and more things accumulating on Tara’s porch. She was over whelmed. The cards never gave a name, just a poem or a song lyric. She wanted to know who was sending her all these things. On February thirteenth when the diamond necklace arrived she was at a breaking point. Who was doing this? Who was so sweet, so romantic? Who was in love with her, because that is what they were, the man sending these gifts to her. Ever letter he wrote was filled with love and signed with a kiss.

But on February fourteenth, Valentines Day, Tara was determined to figure out who was putting these gifts on her doorstep. She got up early, just before 4am and stood near the doorway listening to the world around her for any sign of a person nearing her house. At five thirty she caught a break, her back was rested against the wall, her ear against the door, and she could hear feet coming up her steps.

Tara stood up quickly and peered through the peephole in her door only to see a deliveryman setting the gifts on her steps. Her valentine didn’t even put them there him self! So Tara opened the door and startled the deliveryman to ask him who the sender was. But the man was under strict orders not to tell.

So Tara gathered the gifts inside and set them on her table. Only there was no new gift for today, the gift for the fourteenth day was missing. But the card had big letters saying open me. Inside Tara found a note telling her that her valentine wanted to give her the last gift himself, she was to dress nicely in one of the gowns from the tenth day of February and meet him at the Olive Garden at six that night.

Tara spent all day worrying about if she should go or not. Is this a safe thing to do? But with a little encouragement from her friend Tori, who came over at 4:30 to help her get ready, she decided to go.

By 5:45 Tara was in a little black dress with her hair up and her make up done perfectly. She had her feet in flats because she put her foot down at heels, she could stand the dress but that was it. And with a spritz of perfume Tori pushed her out the door and into the night.

Arriving at the Olive Garden was nerve racking; she didn’t even have a name for the table to be under! But she needn’t have worried, the moment she got out of her car there was a tall man walking towards her. A very familiar tall man. She could see his bandana from across the parking lot. Brian Haner was her Valentine and Tara couldn’t be happier.

On the Valentines Day Tara received a boyfriend who adored her.
This is for the lovely Tara! I'm so sorry it's late my dear. I hope you love it.
