The Nobody
Singing Green Day At Graduation
When Joey woke up, he felt strange, like something wasn’t right.
But, when he got to school and Mel walked with him there he forgot everything about those thoughts.
And when he entered the same classroom as her, he had switched class as you know, he got very surprised.
He didn’t think for a second that Mel would go to the same class as him, but she did.
They sat down, next to each other and everyone shouted at them and said they were a couple, but both of them knew that it wasn’t true.
They helped each other out during this school day, with problems to solve in maths for example and also, they helped each other with personal problems, with talking.
Joey and Mel became really great friends, and Joey was so happy for that.
About a moth after Joey met Mel, he decided to ask her to go with him to his house.
But the answer he got from her that day was:
‘Sorry Joey, I can’t, not today I have to help my mum out with the garden, her back is really bad at the moment, hope you don’t mind.’
That really didn’t bother Joey at all, he was just a little disappointed that she couldn’t come to his house and hang out with him.
Well, Joey walked home from school alone, because Mel had to rush home to help her mum.
Maybe everything was going back to the way things were before Joey met Mel.
Well, Joey didn’t seem to concerned about that.
Joey checked his calendar just to find that the school graduation was in two weeks.
When he came to school the next day Mel met him and hugged him, as she usually did when they met before school.
Then Joey said:
‘Wouldn’t it be cool to get Green Day to the graduation day, and get them to play something?’
Mel looked surprised, she hadn’t expected him to say that, and then she said:
‘Yeah, that would be cool, but they’re on tour now, so they can’t come here.’
Joey smiled and whispered in Mel’s ear:
‘Well, I can sing their songs instead.’
Mel just stared at him and continued with that for ten minutes or so.
‘Well, if we put one of their songs on like on a stereo, it could work.’, Joey whispered to Mel at the lesson they had at that time.
‘Well, that could work, or we could take away Billie’s voice and then you can sing instead.’, Mel answered.
Joey thought that was the greatest idea he had ever heard.
Well, we will just have to wait until the graduation day then!
