The Nobody
Trapped
I'm just a nobody who thought too much of myself, the boy says when he looks at himself in the mirror.
The young boy, who's name is Joey, walks to his bed and lays down on it.
He buries his head in the pillow and quietly starts singing. The song which he sings isn't so sad that it makes you cry but it isn't as glad so you jump around of happiness either.
He continues singing and wipes a tear away from his eye. Only the ones who know the real meaning of that song would cry, so you can tell that he has figured out what it is.
Joey stops singing and lifts his head up. He looks out over his room.
He thinks to himself:
This is my prison, and I actually like it here, in this fucked up world
Suddenly, Joey falls asleep. He dreams of a herd, who's gathering his sheep and then one of them sneaks away. A voice in his dream says to him:
"That's you! It's not good to do that, run away from the herd like that"
Joey wakes up and he remembers the dream. He turns on the radio in his room and hears a song, which is so true to him. He feels like it's describing his life. The song goes:
Stepped out of the line, like a sheep runs from the herd, marching out of time, to my own beat now
He continues to listen to the song until it's finished just to hear the voice say:
And that was Green Day, with their latest hit, Minority.
He gets so sad when he hears the man say Green Day, he hates them, he thinks that they'e just another idiotic anarcistic punk band who are trying to screw the world up.
Then he picks his laptop up and searches for Green Day at google and he founds many sites, and all of them says the same thing:
Be The Minority, Just Like Green Day!
Joey starts wondering if Green Day are so bad as he thought they were...
He decides to get a CD of theirs, he buys Dookie and listens to it...
He thinks to himself:
This is kind of good! Maybe I'll become a Green Day kid after all...
