Love Always

Love Always

Elle’s having a major spazz attack laughing at me. My blue eyes are probably bulging out of their sockets while I’m pretending to be horrified that she’s making fun of my discovery.
“G-” She looks at me but has to quickly look away because she’s laughing too hard.
“Seriously though!” I exclaim across the aisle. “Look at your pen! It says ‘Wow!’” I show her the pen as best as I can with the four feet in between us, it’s a bit harder than it looks. Everyone around us cracks up about something Mrs. Wardell just said. Of course I couldn’t hear her because I was too busy obsessing over Elle’s pen. It’s simply awesome! It’s one of those pens where you have to push on a little button to make the ink part of the pen come back into the pen. And it says “Wow!” on the clippie part where the cap would be.
The bell rings.
“Alright, have a good lunch class,” Mrs. Wardell dismisses us. We all jump out of our seats and push to get into the closet where we keep our lunches and backpacks.
Once Elle and I are finally outside where we can breathe and walk properly Andy, our seventh grade friend, races over to us.
“Hey,” I wave at her. She grabs my hand and inspects my palm. “Lyrics,” I answer before she could ask what was on my hand. She shoves my hand back at me.
“OM Gosh! This one girl said that my brother was annoying and I was like, ‘Tell me something I don’t already know!’” Elle laughs and I start belting out, “TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME SOMETHING I DON’T KNOW! SOMETHING I DON’T KNOW! SOMETHING I DON’T KNOW!” Andy fakes being scared and Elle just backs away slowly. The whole lunch period we had I spend laughing with Andy and watching Elle joke around with the girls sitting next to us.

“Georgia!” Elle says as I pass her.
“Yeah?” I stop in front of her desk.
“Do you have New Moon?” She asks.
“Um… No I have Twilight.”
“Duh! Everyone has that!”
“NO! Wait. I don’t have Twilight. I have Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Why?”
“Well I borrowed it from my friend and we made a bet. She was like, ‘I bet you don’t even have that!’ and I was like, ‘Yes I do!’ but I don’t. And it’s not like you win something in this bet but I can’t stand the thought of losing.” I have to laugh. Typical Elle. Oh so competitive. “Do you know who has it?”
“Um,” I look around, “I think Rose does…. Or no wait… Noel… Maybe it was Rose. You know what, just ask Noel.”
“That’s a good idea,” She smiles. I walk out to get my neighbors homework for the night. I have to take it for him because he’s sick. By the time I get back up to the classroom everyone is praying so I stand in the doorway for a few seconds praying.
“ALRIGHT! JULIE AND I WILL DISMISS YOU!” Peter announces throwing his hands up in the air. Julie dismisses me in less than five seconds. I wait outside for Ellie and she walks out with Madison.
“What are you bringing your seventh grader for her treat?” Madison asks.
“I’m bringing in a chocolate bar,” Elle replies.
“Same!”
“I’m bringing in a book, it’s gonna be like the inside joke,” I say.
“Oh cool! Who picked you?” Madison asks.
“Andy.”
“Duh!”
“Haha. Yeah. It was fun. How was your boxed lunch?”
“It was so much fun!” Elle answers.
“Yeah!” Madison agrees. “What did you get?”
“I got sushi,” Elle answers.
“So did I!” I exclaim.
“I got In N’ Out! I got In N’ Out! I got In N’ Out!” Madison repeats bouncing slightly.
“I had In N’ Out the night before!” I laugh, enjoying the irony.
“Who did you get for the boxed lunch Elle?” Madison asks turning to Elle.
“I had Caroline Coulter,” She says as we turn into the main hallway of our school.
“Oh cool! She’s in my peace family,” Madison claims.
“Awesome.”
“I don’t get it… Why does the turkey have a corn on it’s chest,” Colin states pointing to the turkey on the wall of our hall.
“IT’S A BIB COLIN!” Madison laughs.
“Oh!”
“Yeah duh Colin. I can’t believe you didn’t see that. I mean I didn’t notice it until you pointed it out but still.” I have to laugh. It’s so typical Elle.
I love her. Always.
